
Job Description
The Wallace Arts
Foundation is seeking Art Instructors. This position requires candidates to present
art information to students by showing examples of the art selected, provide
students with tools and raw materials needed to produce their own art, and give
instruction on using the tools and raw materials. This engages the students in cognitive,
communication, and physical activities that will encourage them to value the
learning experience and increase their self esteem. These activities occur Monday through Friday
during school hours, from July through June.
The candidates will bring
a commitment to providing quality art education for students,
materials (Art Supplies and Lesson Plans) needed for workshops, and present a
professional demeanor with the ability to engage up to 30 students
simultaneously. Candidates shall possess
a working knowledge of the California State Standards and be able to work in an
elementary school environment during the school’s business hours. Candidates shall possess a BA in Fine Arts or
minimum of 5 years of experience as a fine artist, a teaching credential
preferred and/or minimum of 3 years of art instruction, must have a familiarity
in cultural and ethnic diversity of
